About Octopus Initiative
Octopus is an initiative started by a student, for students. It is a platform for young learners to discuss and learn more about the issues that affect us, and our society. Octopus strives to amplify the voices of the youth. We raise awareness in the form of discussions, debates, interactions with experts in the field, and more! This initiative is an incubation of HLC International school, Chennai.

Greetings! I am Abishek Venkat, a full-time Biology and Environmental science facilitator at HLC International. I've always believed in the notion that young-adults of today need to be given an open platform to voice out their opinions on matters of importance to them. Be it climate change or feminism, it is them who will be experiencing these in the outside world after school. That is why I'm so motivated and excited to be a student mentor for Octopus - to help students speak up openly and boldly.
